Match Cut Camera Transitions

I recently saw the The Nostalgia Alphabet — released by Thibaut Crepelle. The piece is stunning, but the main thing that sells it is the transitions or match cuts.

I wanted to explore this as we’re going to be using it in our new header video for the homepage. It’s actually really simple.

I ran a very quick test on a phone and clearly I need to work on the movement. This feels very jarring.

So the next step will be working on finding good references, understanding that movement and rebuilding that in Cinema.
