I recently started some 3D Illustration Research and quickly was reminded I don't have much modeling experience under my belt š. So in conjunction with those more abstract illustration style experiments, I'm going to do some more simple renders that are the result of covering fundamental modeling principles. Today I was playing around with the lathe, which is one of the most common or beginner friendly modeling generators in Cinema 4D.
This first shot is far enough out that you don't see the issues with the texture mapping.
But if we turn the model around you can see that the point has issues with the texture mapping and geometry š.
I experimented with a few duplications to create a kind of kaleidoscope effect. I'd also changed the lighting and added a simple blue hue.
